Janel Grant has opened up about her struggles following the latest update on her legal battles with Vince McMahon and WWE.
Taking to Instagram on July 22, Grant described the situation as a “perfect storm of everything and all at once” while also thanking anyone who has checked in:
“I’ll be honest and say it… I’ve been struggling. It happened to be a perfect storm of everything and all at once. Thank you for checking in with me and for your patience.”
As part of the post, Grant added that her grief was similar to that of an Anderson Cooper podcast about grief, while also adding that she had only been outside 5 times in 2026.
“I believe that making a difference in the world begins with how we show up in it. I have been outside 5 times this year. But here I am. And I’m still showing up to be part of the solution.”
Janel Grant Lawsuit Officially Enters Arbitration
Grant’s statement comes a couple of days after her lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE officially entered arbitration. All parties requested the move, which was agreed to by a judge in Connecticut. The lawsuit is set to be voluntarily dismissed within the next few days, while Grant’s claims and defences will still be able to be pursued in the arbitration process.
Grant first filed the lawsuit back in January 2024, accusing Vince McMahon of sexual abuse and trafficking. John Laurinaitis and WWE were also named as defendants in the case, but Laurinaitis was later dropped as a defendant in exchange for information. Brock Lesnar was also named in the lawsuit document 44 times, but was not a direct defendant.
The day after the lawsuit was filed, McMahon resigned from WWE following pressure from sponsors. Slim Jim withdrew from their Royal Rumble sponsorship following the news, but continued their association with WWE after McMahon resigned.
In the years that followed, WWE and McMahon continually pushed for arbitration as they claimed this was the term of the NDA that was signed. Grant’s team claimed that due to the allegations and being forced to sign an NDA, the agreement should be voided.
