Hulk Hogan Project Scrapped Before WWE Hall Of Famer Passed Away

A Hulk Hogan project that was set to see some of the biggest names in Hollywood involved has been put in the shelf indefinitely, with the decision being made before the WWE icon passed away.

As reported by TMZ, an untitled project about Hogan that was set to include Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will no longer be produced. The project was going to focus on the Hall of Famer’s legal battle with Gawker Media. The outlet, which Hogan successfully sued and caused them to go bankrupt, leaked a sex tape of the former World Champion that also included the infamous racist remarks that were at the centre of his controversies over the past decade.

It is also added that the decision was not due to Hogan’s passing and the project was cancelled a long time ago, meaning that the events are unrelated. Hulk Hogan passed away on Thursday, July 24 at the age of 71. Tributes to the former wrestler and actor have been posted en masse online with WWE  also posting multiple tributes over the past week on SmackDown, Raw and NXT.

Another Hulk Hogan Project Scrapped

Prior to Hogan’s death, news broke that a biopic of the legendary wrestler was in the works, with Chris Hemsworth being heavily rumoured to play the role of the Hall of Famer. However, despite many wrestling fans being hopeful that the film would see the light of day, the biopic was cancelled before filming began, with neither Hemsworth nor Hogan able to provide any updates.
