Hulk Hogan “Devestated” By Final WWE Appearance

Hulk Hogan "Devestated" By Final WWE Appearance

Hulk Hogan was crushed by the reaction to what ended up being his final WWE appearance, according to one of his closest friends, Jimmy Hart.

Hogan and Hart made a surprise appearance on the Raw on Netflix premiere on January 4. The now infamous segment is best remembered for the Los Angeles crowd heavily booing the former World Champion as he attempted to hype up the new deal and cut a babyface promo for the fans. The following day, the extremely negative reaction to Hogan became the biggest talking point of the premiere, with multiple mainstream media outlets covering the reaction that went viral for all the wrong reasons.

Although there were rumours that Hogan could make further live appearances, with the Saturday Night’s Main Event specials being the most likely, the WWE Hall of Famer never appeared in front of fans again before his passing on July 24.

Appearing on Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw, Hart admitted he was not entirely shocked by the response given Hogan’s support for Donald Trump, but added that Hogan was not happy with how the segment turned out:

“It’s kind of a mixed reaction, but it’s a little bit more boos than anything. But that devastated him. And we got in the back and he said, ‘What do you think happened? I said, ‘Hulk, it’s simple — blue state, red state, [Hogan’s support of] Trump/Vance.’ I mean, really, I said, ‘I’m okay with it.’ He goes, ‘What do you think?’ I said, ‘I’m okay. I felt like I was managing the Hart Foundation against the British Bulldogs or the Killer Bees or somebody,” Hart said.

“But that bothered him because of that. And I said, well, surely people are going to realize what that was for. So the next week we’re in Texas [to promote Real American Beer] and it’s all cheers, you know? But that always bothered him. It sure did.”

Hart also spoke about his own political views, noting that he did not support either party and that he did not go to the Republican Convention with Hogan:

“I’m not a Democrat or a Republican, I’m just a jabroni,” Hart said. “Hulk knew that, okay? So I didn’t go with him to the Republican convention or anything — not because I wanted to hide or wasn’t for Trump or wasn’t for Biden or anybody. I’m just, like I said, a jabroni.”

Despite being at one point the most popular wrestler on the planet, Hogan’s political stance and previous scandals saw him become much more disliked among wrestling fans.
