Unsurprisingly, there is no plan at this time for John Cena to wrestle in WWE, or anywhere for that matter.
Following his retirement at the end of 2025, Cena has made numerous appearances in the company as part of an ambassador role. Naturally, the question about one more match has popped up in interviews every now and again. Looking t remain true to his word, Cena has stated that unless a promoter wants to give him an obscene amount of money and commit “financial suicide”, it won’t be happening.
In a follow-up report by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Cena remains under a multi-year contract as an ambassador for the company. When asked about the very unlikely possibility of appearing in other promotions, the claim internally is that he wouldn’t be able to wrestle anywhere else contractually.
John Cena Announced New Tournament As Part Of WWE Deal
Cena appeared live at Backlash earlier in the year to announce the John Cena Classic. The tournament would see top and rising stars battle it out to become the inaugural winner of the tournament. However, unlike traditional knockout tournaments, fan votes could sway the outcome and decide who makes it into the next round. The Fightful report notes that the John Cena Classic is still scheduled for December, but no further details have been provided.
