A former WWE star could be a future signing to AEW/ROH.

At the latest ROH tapings on August 11th, Sydney Akeem, previously known as Scrypts/Reggie, appeared at the tapings in Arlington, Texas in a losing effort to Johnny TV. Back in April, it was reported that Akeem’s contract with WWE would not be renewed and he would become a free agent upon expiry as opposed to the release protocol that requires talent to sit out for 90 days.

Akeem made his debut for the company back in 2020 and was first seen as the sommelier for Carmella before being involved in the Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair feud that culminated at WrestleMania 37. Continuing to be a part of the main roster in comedy segments and chasing for the 24/7 Championships, Reggie was eventually sent back to NXT and repackaged a Scrypts. Following his release, Akeem competed on the independents, most notably for GCW.

It is unknown at this time if Akeem has signed a contract or if the appearance is a one-off.
