The build to WWE Bash in Berlin has officially begun.
With multiple title changes taking place at SummerSlam, the WWE landscape looks considerably different following the events that took place in Cleveland. One of the title changes saw Gunther defeat Damian Priest to become the new World Heavyweight Champion, largely in part due to a betrayal from Finn Balor.
On the following episode of Raw on August 5th, Gunther celebrated his victory before being interrupted by Randy Orton. The Viper noted the controversial circumstances that occurred the last time they both crossed paths at King of the Ring, which saw the new champion pin Orton in the finals of the tournament despite the fact that Orton’s shoulder was up. Noting that the finish effectively led to Gunther’s title reign, Orton challenged The Ring General to a rematch in Berlin on August 31st, which was accepted.
As a thank you to Kevin Owens for the sacrifices he has made, Cody Rhodes offered Owens an opportunity at the championship at Bash in Berlin, which was later made official.
The Announced Card For WWE Bash In Berlin Is As Follows:
- Gunther (c) vs. Randy Orton – Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship
