AEW Forbidden Door

The first matches have been officially announced for the upcoming AEW Forbidden Door pay-per-view.

The crossover event with New Japan Pro Wrestling will take place at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on Sunday, June 30th. On the May 29th episode of AEW Dynamite, the build to the show officially began as multiple matches were confirmed for the event.

At AEW Double or Nothing, Adam Copeland successfully retained the TNT Championship against Malakai Black in a barbed wire steel cage match. Unfortunately, Adam Copeland suffered a major injury in the match and will require surgery so will be out for a number of months. Although The Young Bucks attempted to simply award the championship to Jack Perry on Dynamite, it was announced that a ladder match for the vacant championship will take place at Forbidden Door and the entrants will be confirmed in qualifying matches in the coming weeks.
