The Scottish Warrior returned to WWE fans at the UK event.
Following Gunther retaining the Intercontinental Championship at Money in the Bank against Matt Riddle, the music of Drew McIntyre rang out through the O2 Arena, much to the delight of the UK crowd.
Picking up where he left off, McIntyre targeted The Ring General, still looking to become the new IC Champion.
Following an initial face-to-face, both men exchanged headbutts, before McIntyre laid out Gunther with a Claymore.
The former WWE Champion has not been seen since WrestleMania, where both McIntyre and Sheamus failed to defeat Gunther in a Triple Threat match. It was reported that after the match, McIntyre had been dealing with some injuries, and needed time to heal.
The return added to what was a very newsworthy show, which saw John Cena make a surprise appearance and the Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank holders be determined.
