Drew McIntyre Hurt During WWE SmackDown Brawl

Drew McIntyre did not walk away from his brawl with Damian Priest on WWE SmackDown unscathed.

On the April 11th episode of SmackDown, McIntyre and Priest were supposed to have a face-to-face ahead of their Sin City street fight at WrestleMania. However, as Priest made his entrance, The Scottish Psychopath attacked his WrestleMania opponent, who was helped to the back.

Cutting a promo to for the Seattle fans, McIntyre ripped off his eyepatch and announced that he was 100% for their match. At this point, Priest made his return and the brawl resumed. However, while Priest hoped for revenge, McIntyre struck his Mania opponent with the steel steps and delivered a Futureshock DDT onto the steps. Although McIntyre stood tall, the former World Champion also took some damage.

Providing an update on his Instagram Stories, McIntyre revealed that his head was split open in the melee, which McIntyre captioned with “some old wounds never truly heal.”

Drew McIntyre Cut Open But Cleared To Compete

The reason why McIntyre wore an eyepatch was because he was slammed onto a windscreen by Priest 2 weeks ago during a brawl in London. with the match announcement delayed, there were concerns that McIntyre may not be able to make it to WrestleMania. Thankfully, the match has now been made official.

McIntyre and Priest have had history over the past year, which began with Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on McIntyre at WrestleMania to bring McIntyre’s World Heavyweight Championship reign at just 5 minutes.
