Dominik Mysterio will make the call on who the next challenger will be for his NXT North American Championship.
As seen on the August 29th episode of NXT, Mysterio and Ripley sent in a video message to NXT. Mysterio stated that both Dragon Lee and Mustafa Ali want a title shot, but only one can.
Dirty Dom then revealed his idea of having Lee and Ali fight it out and the winner would face him at No Mercy. Ripley then whispered something into Dom’s ear, which was the idea that he would be the special guest referee for the match.
The number one contenders match will take place on September 5th and No Mercy will take place on September 30th.
The line-up for the September 5th episode is as follows:
- Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Kiana James – Singles match for the NXT Women’s Championship:
- Von Wagner (w/ Mr. Stone) vs. Bron Breakker – No Disqualification match
- Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo return to NXT
- Tyler Bate vs. Dabba-Kato
- The NXT Global Heritage Invitational Tournament continues
- Ilja Dragunov vs. Oro Mensah
- Mustafa Ali vs. Dragon Lee (Special Referee – Dominik Mysterio) – The winner faces Dominik Mysterio for the North American Championship at No Mercy
