Dominik Mysterio Retains NXT North American Championship At Great American Bash

“Dirty” Dom’s reign continues.

Dominik Mysterio walked out of the Great American Bash PLE still in possession of the North American Championship, fending off challengers Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali.

The Judgment Day member was accompanied to ringside by Rhea Ripley, who was integral in ensuring that the title remained in the faction.

Both Ali and Lee targeted Mysterio from the outset, wanting to be the one to defeat the ex-convict and walk out with the championship.

Wes Lee took out Mysterio on the outside, much to the anger of Ripley. Mami stood on the apron to prevent an outside dive, but Lee would flip over Ripley to still execute the move. Ripley finally got her hands on Lee, driving the former champion through the announce table with a Riptide. With the match being no disqualification, Ripley was allowed to interfere in the match as much as possible.

The match ended when Ali hit a 450 onto Lee, but once again Ripley caused interference, dragging Ali out of the ring. Mysterio then hit a Frog Splash onto Lee to win the match and retain the championship.

“Dirty” Dominik Mysterio was more successful than Gallus, who lost their titles in the opening match of the event.
