An honour that many feel is long overdue, Demolition will finally be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame over WrestleMania 42 weekend.
The announcement was made on March 2 by The Undertaker, in what has now become somewhat of a tradition for this year’s class. As seen during a video call with Ax [Bill Eadie] and Smash [Barry Darsow], The Phenom let the legendary tag team know that they would be honoured next month in Las Vegas.
Known for their signature look of black leather and spikes, Demolition were one of the most successful tag teams in the 80s. After capturing the Tag Team Championships from Strikeforce [Tito Santana and Rick Martel] at WrestleMania 4, Ax and Smash went on to hold the titles for 478 days, a record that remained unbroken until 2016 when it was finally surpassed by The New Day.
Despite their accomplishments and legacy, Demolition remained the biggest omission from the WWE Hall of Fame, until now.
Demolition Latest Act To Go Into WWE Hall Of Fame
Ax and Smash are now the third confirmed act for the 2026 Hall of Fame class, joining Stephanie McMahon and AJ Styles as announced acts set to be honoured in Las Vegas next month. Both Styles and McMahon were surprised by The Undertaker on Raw and at Wrestlepalooza, respectively, to be informed about the upcoming honour.
