Dave Meltzer has reviewed and rated WWE Backlash, which took place in St. Louis, Missouri and saw John Cena vs. Randy Orton in the main event.
As published in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer has given his thoughts and ratings on the first WWE Premium Live Event to take place after WrestleMania 42. As previously mentioned, John Cena took on St. Louis’ own Randy Orton in the headline match to retain his Undisputed Championship in what was also billed as their final match together.
No titles changed hands on the show as Jacob Fatu retained his US Championship, Dominik Mysterio retained his Intercontinental Championship and Lya Valkyria retained her Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
The only non title match to take place at the event saw Gunther defeat announcer Pat McAfee in a match that saw the former World Champion brutalise the former NFL punter.
