AEW has officially announced details for its upcoming 2026 crossover show with New Japan, Forbidden Door.
On April 15, All Elite Wrestling announced via press release that the upcoming pay-per-view will air live on Sunday, June 28 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. Additionally, international promotions CMLL and STARDOM will also see stars from the respective promotions featured on the card.
AEW President Tony Khan said the following about the upcoming show, which will return for a 5th consecutive year:
“We are excited to bring AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door to the SAP Center at San Jose on Sunday, June 28,” said AEW CEO, GM and Head of Creative Tony Khan. “AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door has become one of professional wrestling’s biggest events of the year thanks to our incredible partnerships with New Japan Pro Wrestling, CMLL and STARDOM, and we look forward to fans in attendance and those watching around the world being a part of history.”
“This year sees the fifth AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door and whenever New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling collide, we see great chemistry between the wrestlers and many memorable moments,” said New Japan Pro Wrestling President Hiroshi Tanahashi. “This year, NJPW will be playing for keeps to win more than ever. Our roster is fired up to show just how exciting New Japan Pro Wrestling is, and fans can expect a sensational event.”
It should also be noted that Forbidden Door will air on the same day as TNA Slammiversary, which will air live from Boston, MA.
AEW Forbidden Door Returns For 2026
With All In taking place in Texas in 2025, London was the host city for Forbidden Door 2025. Emanating from the O2 Arena, London’s own Will Ospreay competed in the main event as part of a multi-man cage match. Ospreay was written off TV by The Deathriders after the match as he required neck surgery.

- Paragon (Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong), El Desperado, and Yuya Uemura defeated CRU (Lio Rush and Action Andretti) and Don Callis Family (Hechicero and Josh Alexander) (with Lance Archer and Rocky Romero)
- GOA (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) and Ricochet defeated JetSpeed (Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey) and Michael Oku (with Amira Blair)
- Triangle of Madness (Julia Hart, Skye Blue, and Thekla) and Megan Bayne (with Penelope Ford) defeated Harley Cameron, Kris Statlander, Queen Aminata, and Willow Nightingale
- The Opps (Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Samoa Joe) defeated Bullet Club War Dogs (Clark Connors, Drilla Moloney, and Robbie X) (with Gedo) to retain the AEW Trios Championships
