Cody Rhodes sees big things in the future of one member of the WWE Raw roster, who is also a current champion.
When Rhodes made his return to the company back in 2022, many felt that it was inevitable that he would be the top champion and the face of the company. In 2024, The American Nightmare defeated Roman Reigns to make that prediction come true as he defeated Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 40 night 2 to famously finish the story.
Although is now Rhodes’ time at the top as he continues to reign as Undisputed Champion for a second time, there is another star in the company who fans also believe will have his moment very soon, Dominik Mysterio.
Breaking away from just being known as Rey Mysterio’s son, “Dirty” Dom currently reigns as the WWE Intercontinental and AAA Mega Champion, and is now receiving cheers from the fans instead of being booed out of the building each week. Given his recent run as IC champ and his past charatcer work, there are many who see Mysterio as a future World Champion. According to Rhodes, Mysterio is set to be a star for the next decade plus.
“It Will Probably Be Dom Mysterio At The Top Of The Card”: Cody Rhodes Sees Bright Future For WWE Raw Star
Appearing on the All The Smoke podcast, Rhodes spoke very highly of Mysterio, and how he believes that the Intercontinental Champion will be at the top of the card in the future:
“Credit to whoever figures out — with load management — whoever figures out how we improve, and I’m seeing it. Dom Mysterio is probably my favorite example. Dom Mysterio does not have the amount of live events that we used to have, although he’s working multiple companies for WWE at the moment. Special talent. He’s somebody that’s often cited internally — I don’t think I’m giving anything away here — as somebody who’s gonna be the future of the WWE. He’s one of the ones that when it’s said, I believe it. I think I’m gonna come to a WWE show in 15 years and pay money to see and it will probably be Dom Mysterio on the top of the card, because he’s figuring out how to do it.”
Also in the interview, Rhodes spoke about his WWE contract and long-term future.
