Chelsea Green Confirms She Suffered Injury On WWE SmackDown

Chelsea Green was unable to walk away from her latest match on WWE SmackDown unscathed as she suffered an injury.

It was first reported by Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer that Green suffered an injury during this match. The Women’s Champion later took to social media to confirm she did get injured. Green also confirmed that the injury was a broken orbital bone:

“I did get injured last night. Stuff happens. It’s live television. It’s wrestling. It’s an occupational hazard. I ended up in the emergency room and I have a broken orbital bone. It looks amazing, all things considered. It feels awful, but looks pretty amazing.”

Continuing, Green added that she is uncertain of what happens next:

“I have no idea what that means for me. Usually, you guys have seen me play into every single injury. But this feels different, obviously. It feels frustrating. I’m upset. I feel like if I didn’t have bad luck I’ve had I’d have no luck at all. So I just need to take a little bit more time to like process and to heal from the head trauma that is going on right now. Then, we’ll see what happens.”

Green teamed with Tiffany Stratton to challenge Fatal Influence for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. Fatal Influence won the match with Green taking the pin. Jacy Jayne will challenge Stratton for her Women’s US Title on next week’s show.

Green became the Interim Women’s Champion at SummerSlam after winning a ladder match on night two of the show. The lineal champion, Rhea Ripley, recently underwent knee surgery and is out of action until further notice. There has been no update regarding the possibility of making Green the permanent champion as opposed to interim. It is also unknown how long Green will be unable to compete for.
