WWE star Charlotte Flair has named Rhea Ripley as a future WrestleMania opponent as she wants to round out the trilogy with her former rival.
Two of the top stars in the WWE women’s division, Flair and Ripley have each had major Mania moments in their own respective matches and with each other. Flair broke Asuka’s streak in 2018 and headlined the show the following year, and Ripley successfully defended her championship against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40 with Motionless in White playing he to the ring.
Appearing on the Up and Adams Show, Flair noted that her and Ripley are one win a piece, and she is looking to complete the first women’s trilogy at the biggest show of the year.
“I don’t really have a dream opponent. I think for the landscape of women and stories that I could see in the future. I think one, I’ve beaten Rhea at one WrestleMania. She’s beaten me at one WrestleMania. To have the first ever women’s trilogy would be pretty incredible.”
The History Of Charlotte Flair And Rhea Ripley At WrestleMania
After Flair won the Women’s Royal Rumble for the first time in her career back in 2020, The Queen chose NXT Women’s Champion Ripley as her Mania opponent, marking the first time that the title was defended at The Show of Shows. With no fans in attendance, Flair defeated Ripley at WrestleMania 36 to capture the top women’s prize on the developmental brand.
3 years later, Ripley won the Women’s Royal Rumble from the number one spot to earn her spot at WrestleMania 39. Looking for revenge from 3 years prior, Ripley chose Flair as her Mania opponent, and went on to dethrone The Queen in Los Angeles.
At WrestleMania 42, Flair will team with Alexa Bliss to challenge in a 4-way match for the Women’s Tag Team Champions. Ripley will also be in action on the card, as she will challenge Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship after winning the Women’s Elimination Chamber match the previous month.
