Bryan Danielson has undergone successful surgery on a broken orbital bone and will be out for a number of weeks.
As seen in AEW storyline, Danielson suffered the injury while wrestling Kazuchika Okada and Orange Cassidy while teaming with Claudio Castagnoli. However this was not the match where the injury took place.
As reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the injury took place on the October 21st episode of AEW Collision:
Yeah, I guess, he went in with a blackeye. They didn’t know how serious it was. But obviously, he worked on it. And they shot the angle to take them out during the match, so the injury took place when they bonked heads. So it was basically a fluke. It was just one of those things. It wasn’t like he got hit too hard or anything. Andrade was doing a spinning elbow and Danielson’s head was in one place and his head was in the wrong place and they bumped heads. And that happens in fights and things like that, you know, fairly often actually.

When Will Bryan Danielson Be Back On AEW TV?
Promoting the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite on Control Center, Tony Schiavone confirmed that Danielson will be out of action until “until later in the year.” Guaranteed to miss Full Gear, it is unknown whether or not an appearance at the upcoming World’s End pay-per-view is possible or not.
Danielson has been unlucky with injuries during his AEW run as each injury has been different, with previous incidents being a concussion and a broken arm.
