Bron Breakker will no longer be a part of the NXT roster.
The two-time NXT Champion has been one of the standout stars of the brand ever since he arrived shortly after the show premiered the 2.0 era. Despite being the son of Rick Steiner, Breakker had the in-ring skills and charisma to stand out on his own and not need to rely on his famous father. Athletic, intense and quick, Breakker’s name frequently came up when the topic of who would be the next NXT call-ups was discussed.
At the 2024 Royal Rumble, Breakker’s surprise entry was his chance to show the world what he could do. Although Breakker had a handful of matches on the main roster, he was still very much an NXT star at that time. However, the night after the Royal Rumble, more and more fans called for Breakker to be called up to Raw or SmackDown.
The former NXT Champion made repeated appearances on the main roster as each of the General Managers attempted to sign him. Just as it appeared that Breakker would be leaving NXT and signing to SmackDown, Breakker and Baron Corbin won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and would go on to become Tag Team Champions. Retaining the titles at Stand & Deliver, it appeared as if Breakker would still remain on the brand for the foreseeable future.
However, on the April 9th episode of NXT, Corbin and Breakker lost the titles to Nathan Frazer and Axiom, meaning all loose ends were tied.
Bron Breakker Says Goodbye To NXT
Following the title loss, Corbin thanked Breakker for reigniting the fire in him and confirmed that Breakker would be going on to SmackDown. Breakker thanked the fans, Shawn Michaels and everyone who has helped to make his dream possible, including Corbin. Breakker stated that it’s not goodbye before dropping the mic and exiting the ring.
It is unknown how long Breakker will be a part of SmackDown as the WWE Draft is set to take place at the end of April.
