An update on Bobby Lashley has been provided.
Back in July, it was reported that Bobby Lashley had elected to not re-sign with WWE and would be leaving the company when his contract had expired. On August 16th, Lashley was removed from the active roster page on the company’s website and placed in the alumni section, effectively confirming the departure. While Lashley’s contract officially expired on the weekend of August 10th-11th, the company have been known to not be as prompt with the updates on their roster pages.
Returning in 2018, Lashley’s first rivalries started out in less than dominant fashion with the infamous Sami Zayn feud and the romantic link with Lana. However, after splitting away from Lana and reuniting with MVP, the duo went on to form The Hurt Business and saw The Allmighty win the WWE Championship on 2 seperate occasions. Lashley also got to face off against Brock Lesnar multiple times, which was reportedly one of the reasons why he chose to return in 2018 after previously going on a dominant run in TNA.
What’s Next For Bobby Lashley?
As the former WWE Champion is a free agent and was not released there is no non-compete in effect, meaning that Lashley can appear for any promotion as soon as possible. According to previous reports, Lashley and MVP are expected to reunite once more and show up in AEW, potentially to reunite The Hurt Business with fellow free agent Shelton Benjamin. MVP has also previously appeared at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport in Brooklyn and has challenged The Warmaster to a future fight.
