Bianca Belair Opens Up About Deciding To Have A Child While Away From The Ring

WWE star Bianca Belair has spoken more about the decision for her to have a child during her hiatus from the ring.

At WrestleMania 42, The EST interrupted host John Cena after the 17-time World Champion announced the attendance for that night. Belair said that WrestleMania is always full of surprises before revealing that she is pregnant with her first child.

Speaking on her YouTube channel about the decision, Belair spoke about her struggles returning to the ring after suffering a broken finger in her last match. The former Women’s Champion added that after 4 months of recovery, Belair and her husband, Montez Ford, had a talk about having their first child together:

“So as everybody knows, at WrestleMania, I broke my finger. I broke my knuckle and I have joint damage, and I lost a portion of my joint which can’t be fixed. I originally thought it was gonna be a pretty straightforward recovery. They said 8 to 12 weeks, but it just started not really healing correctly. It still won’t bend to this day… and I can’t get in the ring. It kind of just got to the point where I hit four months and I have always wanted to have a baby. I’m not getting any younger and honestly, this is what I want to do and I feel like for so long I was kind of putting what I wanted to do and myself on the back burner. Me and my husband, we had a talk and I kind of just told him, ‘I’m ready just to do something for me, and I’ve sacrificed enough and I’m ready to have a baby.’”

Bianca Belair Last Competed In The Ring At WrestleMania 41

Belair has now been away from the ring for over a year. The EST and Rhea Ripley both challenged IYO SKY for the Women’s World Championship in the opening match of WrestleMania 41 night 2. In what was seen as the match of the year by many, IYO SKY emerged the victor in the triple threat match to retain her title.

Belair did make an appearance at Evolution to referee the no holds barred match between Naomi and Jade Cargill.
