AEW Star Darby Allin Provides Injury Update

Darby Allin has shared some good news for the fans after suffering an injury in his last AEW match.

On the December 3 Dynamite, Allin was seen in a hospital bed. The former TNT and Tag Team Champion stated that he was not cleared to compete, and would not be wrestling in his Continental Classic match.

While speaking with 680 The FanAllin stated that he feels good, but is just not medically cleared, adding that AEW made the decision to ensure his safety:

“I feel a million bucks right now, I’m not lying. But I’m just not medically cleared. They’re just saving me from me. Which is fine, which is good. But at the end of the day, I feel amazing right now.”

Allin suffered the injury in the opening match of the Continental Classic tournament against Kevin Knight. There has still been no update on the severity of the injury or how much TV time Allin is expected to miss after being injured. However, it has been noted that Allin suffered a head injury after Knight hit him with the Coast to Coast.

Darby Allin Pulled From Continental Classic Due To Injury

A few days after Allin’s video aired, AEW announced that the former TNT Champion would not be competing in the remainder of the tournament, and Jack Perry was named as Allin’s replacement. As the tournament is underway, Perry will start the round robin tournament on the back foot as Allin lost his opening match to Knight. Perry will face 2024 tournament winner Kazuchika Okada on the Winter is Coming special on December 10.
