The fallout from Wrestle Dynasty and more took place on the January 8th AEW Dynamite.
The inaugural Wrestle Dynasty pay-per-view took place on January 5th and saw the return of Kenny Omega to the ring. Following on from The Cleaner’s triumphant return to the ring over Gabe Kidd, Omega made his Dynamite return on the show. Additionally, the return of the popular Casino Gauntlet stipulation took place.
Excalibur, Ian Riccaboni and Matt Menard were the commentary team for the show as Tony Schiavone was on assignment.
The Following Results Took Place On AEW Dynamite:
- Will Ospreay defeated Buddy Matthews. After the match, Ospreay cut a promo stating that he hoped to see Matthews and Brody King break away from Malakai Black
- The Hurt Business crashed Private Party’s celebration and made it clear they will be coming for the Tag Team Championships
- Bobby Lashley defeated Mark Briscoe
- Powerhouse Hobbs won the Casino Gauntlet match and will challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship next week
- Jeff Jarrett wanted to discuss his future but was interrupted by MJF. MJF stated he could help Jarrett win the World Championship if he gave him the first shot afterwards, to which Jarrett refused.
- The Deathriders attacked Cope before Powerhouse Hobbs made the save
- Kris Statlander defeated Toni Storm and Willow Nightingale to earn the number one spot in the Women’s Casino Gauntlet match that will take place next week
- Kenny Omega returned but was quickly interrupted by Don Callis. Omega was attacked by Brian Cage, Lance Archer and Kyle Fletcher before Will Ospreay made the save
