AEW Dynamite presents Maximum Carnage.
Looking to put on a big show for TBS and Max subscribers, the January 15th edition of Dynamite was a Maximum Carnage special filled with massive matches. Along with Jon Moxley putting the AEW World Championship on the line against Powerhouse Hobbs, the first-ever Women’s Casino Gauntlet match took place, which saw the winner earn a shot at Mariah May’s Women’s Championship at Grand Slam Australia.
Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz were the commentary team for the show.
The Following Results Took Place On AEW Dynamite:
- A video package highlighting The Deathriders and their path of destruction opened the show. Powerhouse Hobbs also featured to promote the main event
- Kenny Omega defeated Brian Cage. After the match. Lance Archer and Kyle Fletcher attacked Omega to lead to another Will Ospreay save, but Konosuke Takeshita attacked both men
- Ricochet attempted to brag about his attack on Swerve Strickland but was attacked by Prince Nana. Strickland chased Ricochet out of the arena
- Video packages aired of The Learning Tree and Mercedes Mone
- The Hurt Syndicate defeated Private Party and Mark Briscoe
- MJF interrupted a Jeff Jarrett promo for the second consecutive week. Both men brawled when MJF brought up Owen Hart’s name
- Hook defeated Christian Cagwe via disqualification due to interference from The Patriarchy. After the match, Samoa Joe returned to make the save
- Toni Storm won the Women’s Casino Gauntlet and will challenge Mariah May for the Women’s Championship at AEW Grand Slam Australia
- Jon Moxley defeated Powerhouse Hobbs to retain the AEW World Championship. After the match The Deathriders attacked Hobbs’s surgically repaired knee before Rated FTR made the save.
