Darby Allin is set for an extended absence from AEW.

The former TNT Champion has not been in action since December 2024, which saw Allin compete in his final league match in the Continental Classic Tournament and drew to Ricochet. According to a new report, Allin will be away from AEW for an extended period of time.

As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Allin has started his training to prepare to climb Mount Everest later in the year and “isn’t expected back for months.” Allin is looking to make history by becoming the first professional wrestler to scale the tallest mountain in the world and is set to make the climb in the spring of 2025. Darby Allin was originally intending to climb Mount Everest in 2024 but suffered a broken foot in March shortly before he was set to take time away to attempt the trek.

Allin was written off TV by being attacked by The Deathriders. Fightful also adds that Allin is not expected back on TV until the spring.
