A new champion is guaranteed to be crowned and more on the July 1 edition of AEW Dynamite.
As Willow Nightingale was forced to vacate the TBS Championship due to injury, the AEW Women’s Division is in need of a new champion. It was later announced that 6 women would qualify for a Survival of the Fittest match, a popular stipulation from Ring of Honor, to determine who would hold the title next. Following a series of qualifying matches, Queen Aminata, Hikaru Shida Persephone, Kris Statlander, Harley Cameron and Maika will battle it out over the vacant championship. Survival of the Fittest rules will see all 6 women start the match and can be eliminated by pinfall or submission. The last woman standing will be the winner and the new champion.
The show will also heavily focus on the fallout from Forbidden Door. At the crossover pay-per-view, Team Mark Briscoe defeated Team MJF, largely due to an assist from Andrade. Due to the stipulation of the match, Briscoe will challenge MJF for the title on the show. It was later announced that the match would open the show.
July 1 AEW Dynamite Line-Up:
- MJF (c) vs. Mark Briscoe – Singles match for the AEW World Championship
- Queen Aminata vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Persephone vs. Kris Statlander vs. Harley Cameron vs. Maika – Survival of the Fittest Match to determine a new TBS Champion
