The fallout from Double or Nothing, the Owen Hart Tournament continued and more on the May 27 AEW Dynamite and Collision double header.
The latest 3-hour special saw both shows take place on the same night, with a follow-up Collision also scheduled for May 30. At Double or Nothing, MJF defeated Darby Allin to win back his World Championship, and save his head from being shaved in the process. MJF appeared live to celebrate his third title reign.
Also at Double or Nothing, the Owen Hart Tournament kicked off with Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland advancing to the next round. More first-round matches took place on Dynamit.
Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz were on commentary for the show.
AEW Dynamite & Collision Results May 27:
- The cold open saw Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega in the trainer’s room. Omega warned Ospreay about The Deathriders, prompting Jon Moxley to make an appearance and admit it was good advice. Ospreay left, and reminded Omega not to forget about the World Title.
- Kevin Knight appeared live following his heel turn at Double or Nothing. The fans gave Knight heavy boos as the TNT Champion tried to explain himself. Knight said that Allin let himself down, and also reminded the fans that he has a victory over MJF. Knight said that he should have been in the Double or Nothing main event. Mike Bailey interrupted Knight and asked Knight to apologise. Knight attacked Bailey.
- Chris Jericho defeated Ricochet. Tommaso Ciampa attacked Jericho after the match.
- Rush defeated Brian Cage, Lio Rush and Orange Cassidy.
- MJF thanked Kevin Knight backstage, but Knight reminded MJF he was still coming for the World Title. MJF celebrated his big win and brought out the Triple B once more. Mark Briscoe and Rush interrupted. MJF will face Rush next week.
- Brody King defeated Claudio Castagnoli to advance in the Owen Hart Tournament.
- Cage and Copeland appeared live for their 5 second pose celebration. The new Tag Team Champions were attacked by David Finlay and Clark Connors.
- Tay Melo and Anna Jay won a squash match.
- Mark Davis defeated Jack Perry to advance in the Owen Hart Tournament.
- Jon Moxley, PAC and Will Ospreay defeated The Rascalz.
- Andrade El Idolo defeated Ace Austin.
- Kris Statlander defeated Hikaru Shida in a street fight.
