AEW Dynamite 300 Preview

Another landmark show for All Elite Wrestling, the July 2 episode will mark the 300th edition of AEW Dynamite.

On the June 25 Dynamite, Kota Ibushi made his return to an AEW ring for the first time in over a year and defeated Trent Beretta. After the match, Ibushi was confronted by Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada, who had previously brawled with Ibushi when he returned on Collision. Later that night, it was announced that Ibushi would face Okada on the July 2 Dynamite. Both men previously faced off in the 2021 G1 Climax tournament, which ended via referee stoppage when Ibushi suffered a shoulder injury. With Okada set to face Kenny Omega at All In, The Rainmaker will be looking for another victory over Omega’s close friend.

Looking to win back the World Championship, MJF declared that he intends to enter and win the Casino Gautlet match at All In. On AEW Dynamite 300, MJF will take part in a qualifying match against Brody King, AR Fox and Anthony Bowens. If MJF is victorious, he will join Mark Briscoe as one of the confirmed entrants in the match.

A title match has also been announced for the show as TBS Champion Mercedes Mone will put her title on the line against Mina Shirakawa. With Mone having history with Shirakawa as The CEO defeated Shirakawa at the start of the year to capture the Undisputed British Women’s Championship, Shirakawa is out for revenge. Additionally, it is likely that Women’s Champion Toni Storm will be watching the match closely ahead of her match with Mone at All In.

With the show also promoting the upcoming Superman film, multiple heroes and villains matches have also been announced for the show.

The Following Matches Have Been Announced For AEW Dynamite 300:

  • Kota Ibushi vs. Kazuchika Okada
  • Mercedes Mone (c) vs. Mina Shirakawa – Singles match for the TBS Championship
