The WWE Raw portion of the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament has concluded, with a Raw Superstar going on to Night of Champions.
Throughout the May 8th episode of the red brand, two triple threat matches and a final singles match took place to determine who would go on to the Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia. The first triple match would see Seth Rollins vs. Damian Priest vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, with the second match of Finn Balor vs. The Miz vs. Cody Rhodes taking place later in the night.
Seth Rollins would win the first Triple Threat match, with Finn Balor winning the second match. Rhodes appeared to have the match won, but a returning Brock Lesnar would pull The American Nightmare out of the ring, allowing Balor to pick up the victory.
In a rematch from SummerSlam 2016, Balor vs. Rollins took place on the main event. Rollins would hit a stomp onto Balor to win the match and face off against the to be determined SmackDown representative at Night of Champions.
On the May 12th edition of SmackDown, the two respective Triple Threat matches will see AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio face off in one match, with Bobby Lashley, Sheamus and Austin Theory competing in the second.
