Cody Rhodes will make his return from injury at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event, competing in the Men’s Royal Rumble match.
The announcement was made on the January 16th edition of WWE Raw. The video package showed The American Nightmare’s most recent match in WWE, which was a critically acclaimed Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins. Rhodes wrestled the entire match with a torn pectoral muscle.
Rhodes stated that nothing would stop him from competing in the match, but knew that surgery would immediately follow. Questions started creeping in, such as how long would he be out and would be at 100% upon the return.
Cody Rhodes then admitted that he is not a patient person, followed by footage of himself training at The Nightmare Factory. The video ended with Rhodes stating it is now not a question of if he will be back, but when. The question was then answered, with the return date being the Royal Rumble.

- Kofi Kingston
