WWE presents the Extreme Rules Premium Live Event on Saturday October 8th. The show currently has 6 matches advertised, with both Women’s Championships being defended on the show. Here are Features of Wrestling’s predictions for Extreme Rules:
Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross – Strap Match
This will be Karrion Kross’ first Premium Live Event match since making his return and only his second match since returning to WWE. Kross has set his sights on Reigns in the past, and will seemingly be a future challenger to the title following Crown Jewel. This feels like the start of Kross being ascended to the main event scene, with a victory over the former WWE Champion being the beginning.
Prediction: Karrion Kross
Liv Morgan (c) vs. Ronda Rousey – Extreme Rules match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship
Liv Morgan has been spending the lead up to Extreme Rules trying to prove to the WWE Universe and Ronda Rousey that she too can get extreme. While Morgan may get the initial flurry of offence with weapons, Rousey will overcome this and become the new champion, most likely holding the title until WrestleMania.
Prediction: Ronda Rousey
Seth Rollins vs. Matt Riddle – Fight Pit Match [Daniel Cormier to serve as special guest referee]
Regardless of the result, Seth Rollins will have a title match against United States Champion Bobby Lashley on the October 10th Raw. The Fight Pit is the stipulation picked by Riddle, giving the advantage to The Original Bro. Riddle will be kept strong for whatever he does next by winning the feud, most likely with interference from Daniel Cormier.
Prediction: Matt Riddle
Imperium vs. The Brawling Brutes – Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match
The result of this is dependent on what happens on the October 7th season premiere episode of SmackDown, where Sheamus challenges Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship. Expect Sheamus to defeat Gunther on SmackDown to make the episode newsworthy, but for The Brawling Brutes to lose the 6 man tag team match at Extreme Rules to keep the momentum strong for Imperium.
Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley – Ladder Match for the Raw Women’s Championship
Bayley has not lost a match since returning to WWE, and has promised to take over the Raw women’s division. While Alexa Bliss and Asuka may neutralise interference from IYO SKY and Dakota Kai, Bayley will ultimately grab the title first, giving Damage CTRL all the gold on Raw.
Edge vs. Finn Balor – “I Quit” Match
The Judgment Day have been gaining momentum since the Raw after Clash at the Castle. Finn Balor is being reported to have big things in the future, and a win over Hall of Famer Edge will help to solidify this. To make Edge quit, Beth Phoenix may factor in the finish, where Rhea Ripley may threaten Phoenix and force Edge to quit, possibly setting up a mixed tag team match in the future.
Prediction – Finn Balor
