The August 2nd edition of WWE NXT will see two championships defended and guaranteed new champions crowned on the show.
The guaranteed new champions concern the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. Following the shocking turn by Cora Jade on her champion partner Roxanne Perez, Jade vacated the title by throwing the championship into the trash. It was announced by WWE Hall of Famer Alundra Blaze that the new champions will be decided in a Fatal 4 Way match. The teams competing for the vacant titles will be Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley, Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter, Valentina Feroz and Yulisa Leon and former champions Toxic Attraction.
The Men’s Tag Team Championships will also be defended on the show. The Creed Brothers will be defending the titles against the D’Angelo family of Tony D’Angelo and Channing Lorenzo, who have both been on a role recently with a string of victories. The final championship to be defended will be the NXT Women’s Championship. Mandy Rose will be defending the title against Sarray, with the winner facing Zoey Stark at NXT Heatwave.
The following matches and segments have been announced to take place on NXT 2.0:
- Mandy Rose (c) vs. Sarray – Singles match for the NXT Women’s Championship
- The Creed Brothers (c) vs. Tony D’Angelo & Channing Lorenzo – Tag Team match for the NXT Tag Team Championships.
- Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley vs. Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter vs. Valentina Feroz & Yulisa Leon vs. Toxic Attraction [Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne] – Fatal 4 Way match for the vacant NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships.
- Solo Sikoa vs. Von Wagner – Falls Count Anywhere match
- NXT Champion Bron Breakker and JD McDonagh sit down for NXT Heatwave Summit
