WWE 205 Live Officially Re-Branded As NXT Level Up

WWE have officially rebranded the 205 Live show. Moving forward, the show will now be going by the name of NXT Level up, with the first show taking place on February 18th following SmackDown.

The debut show has seen the following matches advertised by WWE:

  • Edris Enofé vs. Kushida
  • Javier Bernal vs. Harland
  • Fallon Henley and Kayla Inlay vs. Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley

205 Live premiered on the WWE Network on November 29th 2016. The show was designed to showcase the WWE cruiserweight division, with no competitors being allowed to compete unless they weighed 205 lbs or under. The show would tour the country with the SmackDown roster, with the show airing shortly after the blue brand. However, due to poor ratings and many leaving arenas before tapings started, the show tapings were moved to after NXT took place. The show was also pre-recorded instead of airing live.

Due to the fall in ratings and multiple cruiserweight talents being released throughout 2020 and 2021, WWE would modify the format of the show. Most notably, talents over 205 lbs would frequently appear on the show, with some matches being first round matches in the 2021 NXT Breakout Tournament.

Those in attendance at the February 15th NXT taping had taken pictures of the new ring skirts, which contained the new NXT Level Up logo. The new branding and website announcements now confirm that 205 Live as a show has now been retired.
