WWE has announced that a special edition of NXT tv will take place in January 2022. NXT: New Year’s Evil will make a return on Tuesday January 4th 2022. The announcement was made during the WarGames pay-per-view on Sunday December 5th. The trailer for the event can be seen below:

The New Year’s Evil special will take approximately one month after WarGames and 3 days after the main roster pay-per-view Day 1.

At the time of writing, no matches have been announced to take place at New Year’s Evil. Despite this being the first iteration of the event under the NXT 2.0 banner, New Year’s Evil took place in 2021 while NXT was still in the black and gold brand era. New Year’s Evil 2021 was main evented by NXT Champion Finn Balor defending the title against Kyle O’Reilly. Balor retained the NXT Championship at the event.
