Brock Lesnar Return To TV Announced

Brock Lesnar Return To TV Announced

Brock Lesnar will be appearing live and in person on September 10th. The show from Madison Square Garden in New York, titled Super SmackDown, will be the first appearance by The Beast on TV in over a year.

The return of The Beast was revealed in a series of backstage segments. Firstly, Paul Heyman was interrupted in an interview by his phone ringing. The ringtone that played was the theme song of Brock Lesnar. Later in the show, Heyman spoke to Reigns and revealed that Brock will be at Madison Square Garden.

Lesnar was last seen on WWE TV on the March 2nd 2020 episode of Monday Night RAW. The appearance was to build to the WWE Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36. Lesnar was defeated by McIntyre and hasn’t been seen on WWE programming up until his return at SummerSlam on August 21st.

The Madison Square Garden Super SmackDown will feature superstars from both RAW and SmackDown. Currently, the event page on WWE.com advertises RAW stars Bobby Lashley, Charlotte Flair and Drew McIntyre to be present on September 10th.

Also advertised to appear is John Cena. If Cena does make an appearance at The Garden, this will be the final appearance on the ‘Summer of Cena’ tour. After this date, it will be unknown when the 16 time champion will next appear for WWE. However, as promotional material is not advertising an on-screen appearance by Cena, it is more likely that John Cena will only appear in a dark match if at all.

The following matches and segments have been announced to take place at Super SmackDown on September 10th:

  • Brock Lesnar to appear and will confront Roman Reigns.
  • Contract Signing for Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair at Extreme Rules.
  • Edge vs. Seth Rollins
