Becky Lynch will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair at the Extreme Rules pay per view. The announcement was made on the September 3rd episode of SmackDown.
Belair has been demanding a rematch from Lynch on multiple occasions, following The Man’s surprise return and quick victory over the EST at SummerSlam. However, Becky has been refusing rematches and is reluctant to defend her championship. Belair won a 4 person elimination match on the August 27th SmackDown, earning the right to face the champion in the future.
Becky Lynch stated that Bianca would get her match at some point. However, WWE officials Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce made the decision for Lynch. Deville and Pearce announced that Becky will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship at the Extreme Rules pay per view on September 26th. Currently, this is the only match officially announced for the event.
It was also announced that a contract signing will take place on the September 10th Super SmackDown at Madison Square Garden. Another segment announced for Super SmackDown will be the return of Brock Lesnar to WWE TV.
