Zelina Vega Loses Women's US Title On WWE SmackDown

Zelina Vega has seen her first singles title reign come to an end following the results that took place on WWE SmackDown.

Competing on the June 27 edition of the show, which aired live in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Vega lost the Women’s United States Championship to Giulia. The closing moments of the match saw Vega miss a moonsault, allowing Giulia to capitalise with a Arrivederci knee and the northern lights bomb to win the match and the title, which was also her first main roster championship. Giulia previously reigned as NXT Women’s Champion.

Following her official main roster call-up to SmackDown, Giulia made it clear that Vega was her target by attacking the now former Women’s United States Champion shortly after her arrival on the blue brand. Giulia is now the 3rd holder of the championship, which was introduced in late 2024 and won by Chelsea Green.

This was the only title to change hands in the 3 championship matches that took place on the show. The other 2 matches saw The Street Profits vs. The Wyatt Sicks for the Tag titles end in a no contest and Tiffany Stratton defeated Nia Jax in a last woman standing match to retain the WWE Women’s Championship. Naomi tried to cash in her Money in the Bank contract, but was taken out before it could be made official.

Zelina Vega No Longer WWE Women’s US Champion

The loss brings Vega’s reign to an end at 63 days. Vega’s other WWE accolades are that she won the Queen of the Ring tournament in 2021 and was also one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions with Carmella.
