WWE WrestleMania 40 concluded on April 7th.
Following on from the chaotic events that took place the night before on WrestleMania Saturday, 6 more matches took place live in Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The main event of the show was one of the biggest in Mania history, as Cody Rhodes looked to finally defeat Roman Reigns to become the Undisputed Champion. Additionally, Drew McIntyre realised his own dream as he defeated Seth Rollins to become the new World Heavyweight Champion in what was his first title reign in front of fans. However, the celebrations were incredibly short-lived as Damian Priest spoiled the party by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract to steal the title away from McIntyre.
In a night of new champions being crowned, Royal Rumble winner Bayley also reached the top of the mountain at WrestleMania as she defeated Iyo Sky to become the new Women’s Champion, defeating her former Damage CTRL ally.
72,755 was the announced attendance for the evening.
