All competitors in the tournament to crown the first-ever WWE Women’s United States Champion have now been announced.
On the November 9th episode of SmackDown, Nick Aldis made the historic announcement that a women’s mid-card championship would be introduced on the main roster for the first time ever. Additionally, the General Manager added that the title would not be simply handed to somebody and would need to be contested for.
On the November 15th episode of SmackDown, the first match took place and saw Bayley defeat B-Fab and Candice LeRae to advance. Three more triple threat matches will take place in the coming weeks, which are as follows:
- Bianca Belair vs. Chelsea Green vs. Blair Davenport
- Jade Cargill vs. Michin vs. Piper Niven
- Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Elektra Lopez
The winners of each side of the bracket will face off in the semi-finals and the winners of these matches will battle it out to make history.
When Will The First WWE Women’s United States Champion Be Crowned?
The finals of the tournament are currently set for the returning Saturday Night’s Main Event show, which will take place on December 14th. At this time, it is unknown if a Women’s Intercontinental Championship will be introuced on Raw.
