Former WWE Women’s Champion Bianca Belair has given fans a fresh update on her recovery after recently undergoing surgery.
The EST posted a series of updates on her Instagram story on March 3 following finger surgery the previous month. Along with a video of her physical therapy with the caption, “Not any videos from last week because last week was pretty rough. But this week started off better”, Belair also shared a picture of her finger in a bandage, noting that her finger keeps stiffening up:
“Most days after therapy this is what happens. My finger just stiffens back up. It feels like I’m constantly starting over and everything it’s painful. Every hour I’m trying to move it so eventually it won’t be this way. Also, trying to keep scar tissue from forming again.”
Bianca Belair Recovery Continues
Belair is now approaching a year out of action after suffering a broken finger in her match with Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY at WrestleMania 41 in the opening match of night 2. The match was won by SKY, who pinned Belair to retain her championship. Belair has mostly been kept off of TV while undergoing recovery, but did serve as the special guest referee in the match between Jade Cargill and Naomi at Evolution 2025.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Belair elaborated on the moment that the injury occurred, adding that she thought the injury was much worse in that moment:
“So it was when we were doing the triple German spot, when IYO was on the top rope, and then it was Rhea, then it was me, and I came in German suplexed both of them off, and my hand got stuck underneath Rhea. Also I went to the wrong side of Rhea, but my hand, I thought she was gonna go further over me, we kind of just collapsed together. So when my hand went back, it got stuck under her, and she literally crashed on my hand. I knew immediately it was broken, because usually in a match, something happens, and you don’t feel it until after the match, your adrenaline wears off, and you’re like, Ow, my finger. But in the moment I thought I broke all my fingers. So the ref, you can see the ref if you watch back, the ref comes to me. He’s like, ‘Are you okay?’ I’m like, ‘I just broke all of my fingers!’ You just see me rolling around on the ground, and it took Rhea to snap me out of the moment, because I was just rolling around on the ground. And she’s like, ‘Bianca, Bianca!’ And I’m like, ‘What?’ Oh, we have to finish this match.”
There is still no update as to when Belair will make her return to TV or to the ring.
