WWE SmackDown Results September 19

Two title matches and more took place on the September 19 episode of WWE SmackDown, which was also the final show before Wrestlepalooza.

Continuing his US Title open challenge, Sami Zayn put the championship on the line for a third consecutive week, this time against Carmelo Hayes. Additionally, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair put the Women’s Tag Team Championships on the line against The Secret Hervice and Brock Lesnar appeared live ahead of his match against John Cena the following night at the Premium Live Event.

Michael Cole and Corey Graves were on commentary for the show.

WWE SmackDown Results September 19:

  • Following footage of Superstars arriving at the venue, Michael Cole stated that his interview with Brock Lesnar would take place immediately. Cole made his way to the back, but Lesnar met him on the ramp. Lesnar carried Cole to the ring and looked to attack him, but Corey Graves broke things up, which led to Graves being hit with an F5. Lesnar yelled to the camera that he was coming for Cena and coming for blood. Lesnar hit Graves with another F5 to close out the segment. Backstage, Lesnar met with Paul Heyman and said that they should talk.
  • When order was restored, The Miz was revealed to be the replacement commentator for the show.
  • Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair defeated Alba Fyre and Chelsea Green to retain the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
  • Fraxiom made their entrance for a match, but were attacked by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. This led to a tag team match that Breakker and Reed won.
  • Nia Jax came to the ring to address the attack on Toffany Stratton and Jade Cargill the previous week. Following a brawl, Nick Aldis set up a triple threat match for the title the following week.
  • Sami Zayn defeated Carmelo Hayes to retain the United States Championship.
  • A contract signing took place between WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and challenger Drew McIntyre in the main event. Rhodes brought up that they won the tag titles together 15 years ago, and McIntyre stated that he wanted a fair opportunity at the title without interference. McIntyre attacked Rhodes to stand tall and close out the show.
