Another Brock Lesnar appearance, a title match and more took place on the September 12 edition of WWE SmackDown.
With Lesnar set to take on John Cena at Wrestlepalooza on September 12, the former WWE Champion appeared live ahead of his match at the upcoming Premium Live Event on September 20. Additionally, Drew McIntyre faced Randy Orton and Tiffany Stratton put her Women’s Title on the line against Jade Cargill in what was a SummerSlam rematch.
WWE SmackDown Results September 12:
- Brock Lesnar officially kicked off the show, and looked set to address his upcoming match against John Cena at Wrestlepalooza. However, R-Truth interrupted and took issue with Lesnar targeting his childhood hero, stating that he was “Ron Cena.” Lesnar hit Truth with an F5.
- A Solo Sikoa video package aired, where the former US Champion spoke about losng his US Title to Zayn.
- Sami Zayn defeated Rey Fenix to retain the US Championship.
- B-Fab looked set to take on Giulia, but was attacked by the Women’s US Champion and Kiana James before the bell.
- A video from The Wyatt Sicks aired, where they spoke about The Street Profits.
- Tiaany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship ended in a double count out. Nia Jax arrived after the bell and laid Stratton and Cargill out to bring the show to a close.
- Drew McIntyre defeated Randy Orton. As it appeared that McIntyre was lining up for a second Claymore, Cody Rhodes made his return to make the save. Rhodes stated he would face McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza.
