The October 4 WWE SmackDown heavily focused on Crown Jewel: Australia, which is set to air live next week.
On top of Cody Rhodes in action, which saw The American Nightmare team up with Randy Orton to take on The Vision’s Broson Reed and Bron Breakker, the show also saw Tiffany Stratton appear live ahead of her match with Stephanie Vaquer at the Premium Live Event.
Additionally, a title match took place as Sami Zayn put his US Championship on the line in the latest open challenge.
WWE SmackDown Results October 4:
- Cody Rhodes officially opened the show, but was quickly interrupted by Paul Heyman. The Hall of Famer tried to plant doubt into Rhodes’ mind about his friendship with Randy Orton, but Orton arrived as backup. The segment ended with no physicality.
- Carmelo Hayes looked set to answer Sami Zayn’s open challenge, but was attacked by The Miz, ending their tag team. Aleister Black answered the challenge instead. Zayn defeated Black after Black was distracted by Damian Priest.
- Sol Ruca and Zaria defeated Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre.
- Tiffany Stratton and Stephanie Vaquer signed the contract to make their match at Crown Jewel official. Giulia and Kiana James arrived and attacked Stratton, before asking Vaquer to join them. Stratton attacked James, but Giulia left unharmed.
- Rey Fenix and Je’Von Evans defeated Los Garza.
- Bron Breaker and Bronson Reed defeated Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. Seth Rollins hit a stomp onto Orton to allow The Brons to capitalise. Rhodes hit Rollins with a Cross Rhodes to close out the show.
