WWE SmackDown Results July 4

The July 4 WWE SmackDown saw the fallout from Night of Champions take place, along with multiple matches made official for Evolution and the return of a legend.

Returning to 2 hours, which will be the new runtime moving forward, the show saw King of the Ring Cody Rhodes and Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill appear to address their victories and respective title matches at SummerSlam. Although Rhodes vs. Cena is set for SummerSlam, Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton will defend her title at WWE Evolution. Stratton chose her challenger on the show.

The show was also pre-taped to allow the roster and staff time off to celebrate the 4th of July holiday.

Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were on commentary for the show.

WWE SmackDown Results July 4:

  • Jacob Fatu attacked Solo Sikoa as the new United States Champion arrived in the parking lot.
  • Cody Rhodes officially kicked off the show. Rhodes first referenced a child battling cancer before discussing his King of the Ring victory. Randy Orton interrupted and noted that although he hesitated, Rhodes did not, and congratulated Rhodes on the victory. A returning Drew McIntyre interrupted and called both men pathetic. McIntyre was laid out with an RKO from Orton.
  • Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair defeated Michin & B-Fab and Alba Fyre & Piper Niven. Bliss and Flair will advance to Evolution to challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
  • The Wyatt Sicks defeatedBerto, Chris Sabin, Johnny Gargano and Montez Ford
  • Tiffany Stratton appeared to choose her challenger for Evolution before being interrupted by Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill. Both were then interrupted by Trish Stratus. It was later announced that Stratton vs. Stratus would take place at Evolution.
  • Naomi attacked Jade Cargill. It was later announced that a No Holds Barred match was announced for Evolution.
  • Andrade and Rey Feinix defeated Fraxiom.
  • Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso defeated JC Mateo and Solo Sikoa.
