The final WWE SmackDown before the Royal Rumble.
With the Royal Rumble just 24 hours away, the January 31st SmackDown presented the final build to the 2 Rumble matches and the 2 title matches scheduled to take place at the event. The show also saw a title match take place as Chelsea Green put the Women’s United States Championship on the line against Michin. Additionally, Naomi was in action against Liv Morgan and Jimmy Uso was in action against Carmelo Hayes.
The show aired live from Indianapolis, Indiana with Michael Cole and Pat McAfee making a special guest appearance. Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were on commentary.
The Following Results Took Place On WWE SmackDown:
- Michael Cole and Pat McAfee hyped up the crowd to kick off the show
- Joe Tessitore interviewed Kevin Owens in the ring. Owens was offended that this was Tessitore’s way of making amends, to which Tessitore stated that he would not apologise. It appeared that Owens was about to storm out but was interrupted by CM Punk. Punk apologised for interrupting but stated that when he wins the Royal Rumble and if Owens wins the ladder match at the Royal Rumble then they may face off at WrestleMania. Owens stated that he hopes that Punk doesn’t win the Royal Rumble.
- Jimmy Uso defeated Carmelo Hayes
- Michin defeated Chelsea Green via DQ after Green used the kendo stick. As the match ended in disqualification, Green retained her championship
- New SmackDown signee Damian Prest addressed the crowd before being interrupted by Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu. A brawl ensued with LA Knight making the save
- Motor City Machine Guns and Los Garzas defeated Pretty Deadly and DIY
- Naomi defeated Liv Morgan
- Andrade defeated The Miz.
- Tiffany Stratton was interviewed but was taken out by Nia Jax. Candie LeRae was caught in the crossfire
- Damian Priest and LA Knight defeated Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu
