The last WWE SmackDown before Elimination Chamber took place on February 27 with a title match and more taking place.
With the penultimate Premium Live Event set for February 28, all 6 men set to take part in the Chamber match all made an appearance on the show. Whoever wins the match will face Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42. Additionally, Jordynne Grace faced Candice LeRae, and Rhea Ripley& IYO SKY put their Women’s Tag Team Championships on the line against Nia Jax and Lash Legend.
Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were on commentary for the show.
WWE SmackDown Results February 27:
- The show had a chaotic opening as Jey Uso was seen being loaded into the back of an ambulance. All the roster crowded around and an irate Jacob Fatu promised to find out who did it. Drew McIntye then made his way out to the arena. Despite gloating about the attack, McIntyre said he had nothing to do with the attack. Nick Aldis tried to get McIntyre to the back, with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton then interrupting. Trick Williams then interrupted and made his case to win the Chamber match. LA Knight and Je’Von Evans then made appearances, rounding out the Chamber participants. A brawl ensued with Knight and Williams fighitng their way to the back. Orton hit Evans with an RKO.
- Uncle Howdy defeated Solo Sikoa. Howdy went for the lantern, but was attacked by the MFTs.
- Tiffany Stratton defeated Kairi Sane. Stratton originally challenged Asuka, but Asuka wanted to stay fresh for Elimination Chamber.
- Paul Heyman pitched for Logan Paul to replace Jey Uso in the Elimination Chamber, and Nick Aldis was not opposed to the idea. Fatu also spoke with Aldis about being in the Chamber, which Aldis considered.
- Oba Femi defeated The Miz.
- Carmelo Hayes defeated Matt Cardona to retain the US Championship.
- Jordynne Grace defeated Candice LeRae.
- Nia Jax and Lash Legend defeated Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY to become the new Women’s Tag Team Champions.
- Logan Paul faced Jacob Fatu to determine the final entrant to replace Jey Uso. The masked man turned up and attacked Austin Theory, who was at ringside, but Paul caught him. The masked man was unmasked and was no one known. McIntyre attacked Fatu to allow Logan Paul to pick up the win.
