The fallout from the Royal Rumble and the road to WrestleMania began on WWE SmackDown.
Focusing on the events that took place 6 days prior, SmackDown saw Women’s Royal Rumble winner Bayley and Men’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes both appeared live and make their decision for WrestleMania.
Additionally, multiple stars from NXT made appearances and would make their case for each respective General Manager to sign them to a respective main roster brand.
After retaining their respective championships at the Royal Rumble, Logan Paul and Roman Reigns also appeared live on the show.
The Following Results Took Place On WWE SmackDown:
- Logan Paul opened the show and insulted the host city of Birmingham, Alabama. Admitting he underestimated Kevin Owens, Paul referenced the dangerous Owens before being interrupted by The Prizefighter. Austin Theory interrupted to set up Owens vs. Theory
- Kevin Owens defeated Austin Theory with the use of brass knuckles
- Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne defeated Pretty Deadly, The LWO and Legado Del Fantasma
- Bayley made her WrestleMania decision, choosing Women’s Champion Iyo Sky. Damage CTRL attacked Bayley but fended them off with a pipe
- Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits vs. The Final Testament ended in a no-contest
- Tiffany Stratton defeated Michin in Stratton’s debut match on the main roster
- Roman Reigns made his entrance and referenced Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania decision. Rhodes interrupted and stated he would be coming for Reigns, but not at WrestleMania. The Rock would interrupt the segment and stand face to face with Roman Reigns as the show went off the air.
