The fallout from Backlash and more on WWE SmackDown.
Less than one week on from WWE Backlash in Lyon France, which saw an unbelievable crowd keep up the energy all night long, the show focused on the build to the upcoming King and Queen of the Ring PLE, which will take place on May 25th. Multiple matches from each respective tournament took place on the show. Additionally, Cody Rhodes found out his opponent for the event.
This was also the first episode of SmackDown to feature Alicia Taylor as ring announcer.

- General Manager Nick Aldis introduced Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes. After congratulating Rhodes on his successful defence, Aldis introduced Rhodes’ opponent for King and Queen of the Ring, Logan Paul.
- Nia Jax defeated Naomi in a first round match in the Queen of the Ring tournament
- Carmelo Hayes defeated Baron Corbin a first round match of the King of the Ring tournament
- Jade Cargill defeated Piper Niven in a first round match in the Queen of the Ring tournament
- Bianca Belair defeated Candice LeRae in a first round match in the Queen of the Ring tournament
- Tama Tonga defeated Angelo Dawkins in a first round match in the King of the Ring tournament
- Randy Orton defeated AJ Styles in a first round match in the King of the Ring tournament
