CM Punk will celebrate his big win and more on the July 10 edition of WWE SmackDown in Oklahoma.
The July 6 Raw was a newsworthy episode as CM Punk made his WWE return in his hometown of Chicago. Replacing Cody Rhodes, Punk defeated Sami Zayn to win the World Championship for the eighth time in his career. Following the victory, it was announced that Punk would be appearing live on the next episode of SmackDown. Punk will likely celebrate his big win and determine who his SummerSlam opponent will be on the show.
At Night of Champions, Williams successfully defended the title against Ricky Saints in Saudi Arabia. Appearing on the July 3 SmackDown, Williams was interrupted by Carmelo Hayes. Hayes demanded a title match against Williams, but Lil Yachty said that opportunities need to be earned. It was then announced that Williams would face Hayes next week, but the title will not be on the line. If Hayes wins, it is likely that he will receive a US Championship match down the road.
With the next Saturday Night’s Main Event scheduled for next week, expect more matches for the special to also be announced on the show.
