The August 14 WWE SmackDown will be a championship-heavy show as three titles will be on the line in Boston, MA.
On the August 7 SmackDown, Jacy Jayne challenged Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s US Championship. Cargill only accepted if she and Chelsea Green could face the remaining members of Fatal Influence for the Women’s Tag Championships. Fatal Influence won the match, meaning that the group has the opportunity to all be champions next week.
At SummerSlam, Baron Corbin defeated Trick Williams to become the new US Champion. After defeating Williams in the rematch on the August 7 SmackDown, Corbin’s next challenger will be Carmelo Hayes, who is also a former US Champion.
The final title match announced will see the WWE Tag Team Championships on the line. Damian Priest and R-Truth will put their titles on the line against both The War Raiders and MFTs. The MFTs interrupted the previous match between the champions and The Raiders, which also saw the AAA Tag Team Championships on the line. The no contest led to a triple threat tag match being announced.
